Disclaimer
Useful timers, honest limits.
MinuteTimer is built to be dependable, but a timer running in a web page has limits that no website can remove. Please read this before relying on it for anything important.
Timing accuracy
Each countdown calculates the remaining time from its finish time, so the display catches up correctly after a tab has been in the background. The calculation uses your device clock. If that clock changes while a timer runs, the page tells you and lets you choose which time to keep. The stopwatch shows hundredths of a second, but that display is not certified timing and must not be used for official results.
Alarms
Browsers can block sound until you interact with the page, slow down background tabs, and pause pages when a device locks or sleeps. Closing the tab ends the timer. As a result, the alarm may play late, or not at all. When hearing the alarm matters, keep the page open and visible and use Test sound first. For medication reminders, safety-critical cooking or anything where a missed alarm could cause harm, use a dedicated device.
Health and activity examples
Some timer pages mention common uses, such as handwashing, brushing teeth or interval workouts, and link to the organization or study they come from. These examples are general information, not medical, dental or fitness advice. Ask a qualified professional about your own situation.
