Using the egg timer
Pick one of the presets from 3 to 12 minutes or type your own time, then press Start timer when the eggs go in. The sand runs from the top to the bottom and the bell rings at zero. Keep your phone or tablet awake and the page open while you cook, because a sleeping device may pause the alarm.
How long to boil an egg
Cooking times depend on the size of the eggs, whether they start in cold or boiling water, and how set you like the yolk, so follow your recipe for the exact time. The presets simply cover the range most recipes use. When the timer ends, the page keeps counting how long ago it finished, so you can see if the eggs stayed in longer than planned.

Can I use it for other cooking?
Yes. It is a normal countdown timer, so it works for pasta, tea or anything else – just set the time you need.
Will it ring if my phone locks?
Not reliably. Phones may pause web pages when the screen locks, so keep the screen on and the page open while you cook.
