Its official name is Washington’s Birthday

According to the National Archives, Washington’s Birthday became a legal holiday for federal employees in the District of Columbia on January 31, 1879, and a 1968 law moved it from February 22 to the third Monday in February. Neither Congress nor the President has ever renamed it “Presidents’ Day” – that name is popular usage.
