Why Thanksgiving is on a different date every year
U.S. Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, so it always falls between November 22 and November 28. Congress fixed that rule in 1941: the House first proposed the last Thursday, and the Senate changed it to the fourth Thursday so the date would not shift in years with five Thursdays in November. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the resolution on December 26, 1941.
